Plugless Power | Apollo Launch Program

January 27th, 2012 by kathleen

As I mentioned in a previous post, Plugless Power has developed the first wireless charging station for electric vehicles. In addition to their state-of-the-art, hassle-free product, Plugless Power aims to kickstart a widespread movement of going electric. This movement is called the “Apollo Launch Program“. Plugless Power has partnered with leading companies on this initiative and each company’s fleet of electric vehicles are equipped with Plugless Power’s wireless charging system and will drive across the United States to spread the movement.

I was asked to design the logo for the Apollo Launch Program.

Find out more about this amazing movement here.

Font Love | Nelly Script

January 24th, 2012 by kathleen

I will be at my desk today designing some custom stationery and I am in the need of a beautiful, script font. I know exactly which one I want, Nelly Script Flourish. I have been eying this font FOREVER. It was my wedding invitation font and I have been dying for an excuse to purchase it for myself.

I cannot wait to use it!

Happy Tuesday, everyone!

Style Swoon | Golden Globe’s

January 17th, 2012 by kathleen

Ok, it’s time for the Gold Globe’s recap. Which dress made you weak in the knees? Personally, I can’t shake this image from my brain. Jessica Biel was my idea of perfection in Elie Saab at Sunday night’s Golden Globes.

Here are my runner-ups:

From left to right: Julianne Moore in Chanel, Kristen Wiig in Bill Blass, Salma Hayek in Gucci, and Charlize Theron in Dior.

Who were your faves?

My Best Friend’s Wedding | Program Design

January 13th, 2012 by kathleen

2011 was the best year of my life. It was the year I planned my wedding. The year I finally married the boy down the street. It was also the year my best friend planned her wedding. The year she married the boy down the street.

I cannot express how wonderful it was to share the entire wedding process with Gina. I often think about how blessed I am to have such an honest, kind, intelligent, and inspiring friend. (Yes, that many adjectives are completely necessary). Gina and her husband Jonny stood by Jon and I as we were married last June and three months later, on September 24, 2011, we had the honor of standing by them as they said, “I do”. How special is that?

When it came down to me deciding on a gift for this amazing couple, I asked Gina if I could design their wedding program and she accepted : ) At Gina’s bridal shower, our best friend Emma gave Gina custom artwork. The piece depicted a tree with the initials G and J carved into it. I thought it was sweet and I used it as my inspiration for the programs.

For the inside, I used the same tree graphic Gina and Jonny used on their invitations.

Gina and Jonny’s wedding was perfection. Their love is magnetic and their commitment to each other is profound. If anyone has ever doubted fate, soul mates, or destiny, just spend five minutes with these two.

Seriously, could she be any more beautiful?

No. She couldn’t.  I love you, Gina!

Virginia Tech Wedding Koozies

January 6th, 2012 by kathleen

One of the sweetest girls I know is getting married on Cinco de Mayo and asked if I would design a custom koozie for her big celebration. It’s the perfect favor for a Virginia Tech couple getting married on one of the most festive days of the year!

Here are some of my Hokie-inspired designs:

This last one is the winner and will be printed on a maroon-colored koozie!

Congrats Caitlin and Brandon!
