I recently had the pleasure of designing save the dates for an incredibly sweet couple. I’ve known Emily for 7 years, and while she’s “technically” a friend of a friend, her sweet, spunky personality is so intoxicating that she quickly became one of mine as well. Emily found her perfect match with Zach. He is easily one of the sweetest men I know and I am so excited for their September wedding!
Designing for Emily was pretty easy. I knew it had to be bright, cute, and a little bit preppy ;)

We decided to go with thermography printing. Using heat, the ink is actually raised from the surface of the paper and has a glossy texture. They turned out beautifully, and think it added a lot of detail to the invites.

Congrats, Emily + Zach! I am so happy for you two!

As you know, my lovely friend is getting married. For her bridal shower invitation, I thought it was fitting to celebrate our shared love for lace, baker’s twine, and kraft paper.

Then I finished them off with a wax seal.

I love paper. And Alex.

2011 was the best year of my life. It was the year I planned my wedding. The year I finally married the boy down the street. It was also the year my best friend planned her wedding. The year she married the boy down the street.
I cannot express how wonderful it was to share the entire wedding process with Gina. I often think about how blessed I am to have such an honest, kind, intelligent, and inspiring friend. (Yes, that many adjectives are completely necessary). Gina and her husband Jonny stood by Jon and I as we were married last June and three months later, on September 24, 2011, we had the honor of standing by them as they said, “I do”. How special is that?
When it came down to me deciding on a gift for this amazing couple, I asked Gina if I could design their wedding program and she accepted : ) At Gina’s bridal shower, our best friend Emma gave Gina custom artwork. The piece depicted a tree with the initials G and J carved into it. I thought it was sweet and I used it as my inspiration for the programs.

For the inside, I used the same tree graphic Gina and Jonny used on their invitations.

Gina and Jonny’s wedding was perfection. Their love is magnetic and their commitment to each other is profound. If anyone has ever doubted fate, soul mates, or destiny, just spend five minutes with these two.

Seriously, could she be any more beautiful?

No. She couldn’t. I love you, Gina!

Not long ago, I got tired of drooling over other people’s beautifully designed stationary and logos, and decided to learn how to create my own. I plunged head-first into design software, and while it’s taken some time, graphics have become a huge interest of mine.
When my best friend got engaged, I immediately wanted to design a fun, individualized engagement party invitation for she and her fiance. Here’s what I’ve come up with so far:
- Emma is extremely crafty and loves all things bright and colorful. This quirky invite just feels like her to me. Plus, who doesn’t love a good chevron pattern?

- The rope font is perfect for the occasion.

- A bookmark invite may be an appropriate idea for these avid readers.

- Emma (aforementioned bff) and Bobby (her fiance) live in the nation’s capital and have chosen DC for the location of their impending nuptials. I thought the city’s skyline was fitting.

- E&B have traveled the world together. Here, I edited one of my favorite pictures of the couple (in Prague). I really like it’s graphic novel feel.

Which one’s your favorite?
Emma is an avid lifestyle blogger. Check it out! It’s a one-stop-shop for all things pretty and in vogue . Her quick-witted charm is sure to suck you in.
