Blind Letterpress Wedding Suite | Christina + Doug

March 27th, 2013 by kathleen

I am kind of in love with these invitations. They are so timeless and elegant and I couldn’t be happier with the way they turned out.

This was the first time I’ve designed an invitation with a blind letterpress. It turned out to be my favorite element to the design! It adds such an amazing detail:

Congrats, Christina and Doug! I hope you love them as much as I do ;)

What do you guys think?

Save the Date | Emily + Zach

March 11th, 2013 by kathleen

I recently had the pleasure of designing save the dates for an incredibly sweet couple. I’ve known Emily for 7 years, and while she’s “technically” a friend of a friend, her sweet, spunky personality is so intoxicating that she quickly became one of mine as well. Emily found her perfect match with Zach. He is easily one of the sweetest men I know and I am so excited for their September wedding!

Designing for Emily was pretty easy. I knew it had to be bright, cute, and a little bit preppy ;)

We decided to go with thermography printing. Using heat, the ink is actually raised from the surface of the paper and has a glossy texture. They turned out beautifully, and think it added a lot of detail to the invites.

Congrats, Emily + Zach! I am so happy for you two!

Bridal Shower Invitation | Kraft Paper Love

February 13th, 2013 by kathleen

As you know, my lovely friend is getting married. For her bridal shower invitation, I thought it was fitting to celebrate our shared love for lace, baker’s twine, and kraft paper.

Then I finished them off with a wax seal.

I love paper. And Alex.

Letterpress Save the Date | Christina + Doug

January 3rd, 2013 by kathleen

My oldest brother is getting married!

When you imagine your siblings getting married – you always hope that they find someone who deserves them, someone worthy of their “amazingness”. My brother did – he found his perfect match. Not only is Doug lucky, we all are! I cannot be any happier to welcome Christina to our whirlwind of a family!

For these two, I wanted to design a classic, elegant Save the Date:

The letterpress printing turned out beautifully and added a nice detail.

Congrats Christina + Doug! I love you!

Miss Batson’s Bridal Shower

October 11th, 2012 by kathleen

Last month I hosted a bridal shower for my best friend Emma. As her Matron of Honor, this was one of my “duties” I was really looking forward to. Emma has been my best friend since high school, we lived together all throughout college, and she remains the one person I tell everything.  She is incredibly smart, creative, and, for lack of a better word, so cool.

Here are some pictures from the fete:

The invitation + matching bridal shower game design:

I knew I wanted to design something for the favor. I came up with this:

I designed the graphic and used transfer paper to create little custom gift bags filled with “baby” scented soaps ; ) All placed in a mini suitcase, a nod to Emma and Bobby’s many travels together.

My next priority was the dessert/bar station. I knew I wanted to have a bellini station (assorted fruit purees mixed with champagne – yum) so I made this sign and coordinating stickers to label the fruit purees:

I even attempted an ombre cake, paired with music-themed dessert napkins (very appropriate for Emma and Bobby).

The whole setup:

Congratulations, Em. You are so special and I could not be happier for you than I am right now.

Love, Leen.

[Both dresses designed by our uber talented friend. Check out more from Suite 33 here.]
